EVENT RECAP - WAKEMAN TOWN FARM HOLIDAY TREE LIGHTING 2025

Despite the chilly weather, some 250 local revelers showed up to celebrate the season at Wakeman Town Farm’s Annual Holiday Tree Lighting. To help revelers get into the holiday spirit, the high school student jazz duo, On The Count Of Two, started off the evening with jazzy holiday cheer. The wonderful duo was followed up by rousing renditions of festive holiday music by local student musicians from Greens Farms and Saugatuck Elementary schools, plus a few members of the Staples High School Band playing Christmas and Chanukah favorites. Families enjoyed hot chocolate and sweet treats courtesy of The Granola Bar and Sweet P Bakery as they listened to the music.  Afterward, Bill Constantino, a Wakeman family member, and Kevin Christie, newly elected First Selectman, lit up the Wakeman tree to kick off the holidays and keep a generations-old family tradition alive for the community.

In the spirit of the season many of the revelers donated diapers, toys and food which were collected in boxes at the Farm and will be donated to our neighbors in need during the holiday season.

This event was also sponsored by Freudigman & Billings, LLC. Thank you for the support!

Special thanks to our entire Wakeman Town Farm family for putting this event together, especially Nancy Plotkin, Judy Sloan, Nicole Gerber, Liz Milwe, Bill Constantino, John Montoni! And a big shoutout to our friends at SLOBS who provided muscle and good cheer!

sold out: self-care sunday Sound Bath Experience 11.2.25

Sound Bath Experience - Sun. Nov. 2, 2-4 p.m.
Rooted in themes of letting go, turning inward, and planting new intentions, this sound bath and art experience offers a sacred space to slow down and reconnect with yourself. As autumn’s golden light softens and the trees surrender their final leaves, nature invites us to do the same: release, reflect, and return to our inner stillness

The gathering will take place at Wakeman Town Farm’s gathering space, Tim’s Kitchen. It’s a setting that invites presence, reflection, and connection with the natural rhythms of the season.

We’ll begin with a sound bath with soothing soundscapes and gentle visualization to support this seasonal shift. The sounds of crystal bowls, chimes, and meditative instruments will create a deeply restorative space for grounding and renewal.

Following the sound journey, you’ll be invited into a therapeutic art experience aligned with this same theme. Through intuitive creative expression, we’ll explore what’s ready to be released and honor what is ready to emerge within. In this creative container, your emotions and insights are safe to take shape on the page in whatever form they choose. No prior art experience is necessary; all are welcome.
