Learn about how to return nutrients to the soil through composting, either creating your own compost bin with advice from a UConn Master Composter, or channeling your food waste into commercial compost, via the experts at Curbside Compost. Hear from C-Tec Solar how solar energy can help you be more sustainable every day. And, of course, we'll all take part in the traditional Maypole dance with local caller Bill Fischer at 2 p.m. We'll also have a fab local food truck serving lunch!

Join the Cookbook Club! Love cooking or just reading about cooking? The Westport Library is kicking off of a new tradition at Wakeman Town Farm's Tim's Kitchen. First up was author Katie Brown in December at Wakeman Town Farm's new Tim's Kitchen. In February, local food blogger Yamani Lal was the guest speaker and shared her love for regional Indian cuisine Our Speaker in April will be NYC-based gluten-free chef and author Phoebe Lapine who will demonstrate recipes from her bestselling memoir, The Wellness Project,. Farm Camp Open House
Have you been thinking of having your child spend more time outside this summer breathing the fresh air, learning about nature, sustainability, organic gardening, and animal care? Wakeman Town Farm is the place to be! Our summer programs offer children ages 3-17 the chance to have daily hands on interactions with our farm animals, learn about and help care for our organic garden beds, and even try their hand at simple recipes using our bountiful harvest.
