NEW Mommy (Daddy/Caregiver) + Me at the Farm ages 0-3

IMG_4643.jpg

Head down to the Farm and spend some quality time with your youngster while safely connecting to other moms and children in the community.  Intimate group sizes of no more than 8 families provide an enriching experience while visiting with the animals and exploring the organic vegetable gardens. We’ll spend time outdoors sampling what is ripe on the vines, seeing whether there are eggs in our nesting boxes, and visiting with our favorite Farm friends, including our brand-new juvenile alpaca sisters Dahlia and Marigold!

Each session is $200 for four weeks, and meets each Tuesday or Thursday from 9-10 AM for four weeks.  Registration includes one parent/caregiver with one child between 0-3 of age.  If you plan to bring a sibling, there will be an additional $100 charge for the four weeks for that sibling.

Note: Limited availability. Social distancing, hand washing, and temperature checks will apply. All participants must wear masks when they are within six feet of others and when entering the facility to use the restroom. We have a new outdoor sink for hand washing.

Cost: $200 per first child. $100 per sibling.

Sessions:

Tuesday Session 1:  June 30, July 7, July 14, July 21

Thursday Session 1:  July 2, July 9, July 16, July 23

Tuesday Session 2:  July 28, August 4, August 11, August 18

Summer Camps Update 5.28.20

93d4c7e8-13c9-4e92-89f1-b4ee26bb78d3.jpg

This is a sad day for us at the Farm, as we announce that we will not be hosting our popular Farm Camps due to the various restrictions placed upon camps by the State, the limited number of children that could be served, the challenges of social distancing with little ones, and the unknowns related to pediatric reactions to the virus. When we are able to reopen safely, even in a restricted fashion, you will be the first to know, as we will post all updates here.

Rest assured, we are working hard on some novel ways to safely bring limited numbers of people back to the Farm, including private tours/experiences, private family/corporate Farm visits, outdoor curbside pizza pickups, and small-group apprentice programs for students in middle school and up, as we are confident that older students will be able to understand and comply with distancing and safety protocols.

In the meantime, we miss all of our campers, staffers and instructors! If you miss us, too, please consider purchasing a T-Shirt to help us defray the costs of keeping the Farm thriving and our animals fed + healthy during these trying times until we can welcome you back. Thank you! These Alpaca T-shirts will show your Wakeman pride. They are a super-soft cotton blend in a heathered grey-green with cream lettering. Click here to order. $22.50 each. Stay strong, friends. Brighter days are ahead.

This new weekly online cooking series is designed to take the pain out of the question, "WTF Am I Going to Make for Dinner Tonight?" Our guest chefs will help you prepare an easy and delicious entree that's enough for a family of 4-6. The class is from 4-5:30 p.m., so when you're done, pour yourself a glass of wine knowing that dinner is ready to be served! We'll supply you with an advance recipe list that you can knock out while you're doing your weekly shopping. We'll also supply you with a Zoom link good for one person.

In this ZOOM class, you will prep and prepare an entree that will feed four-to-six people. This class focuses on making a healthy and colorful Thai rice bowl. It's a delicious layering of a ground meat mixture (turkey), refreshing cabbage slaw, and plenty of Asian-inspired flavors. To register, click here

Farm Closing .jpg

March 11,2020

Dear Westport Families,

We have just learned that a number of Westport parents and Westport Public School students, in schools throughout our district, were in contact with an individual presumed to be positive with coronavirus. Based upon discussions with and at the direction of Mr. Mark Cooper, Director of Health for the Westport Weston Health District, the Westport School District will be closed until further notice following today’s regularly scheduled dismissal. This includes all after-school and evening activities, including athletics. We will immediately begin deep cleaning our schools and in conjunction with the Westport Weston Health District will be consulting with state and federal officials.

Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

Sincerely,

David Abbey

Interim Superintendent of Schools
