Join Master Gardener/environmental educator/butterfly & moth enthusiast Michele Sorensen, to sharpen your observation skills so you can recognize our winged friends. After a brief indoor orientation to butterfly families and field marks, we’ll head for the gardens to “catch” butterflies, skippers and their larval “cats” with our smart phone cameras. We’ll record the total number and different species we spot to create a simple diversity index.
Bring camera phones, and a notebook for your observations. All “citizen scientists” – including kids with adults – are welcome.
